You didn't specify what you mean by fastest transfer. You want DSP to receive data as quick as possible or the CPU to waste as little time as possible on that transfer. If the second is the case then SDMA is obviously faster since CPU won't wast unnecesary time pulling host port registers to synchronize with it. Another sad thing is that host port is 8 bit so (correct me if I'm wrong) writing a word to host port takes more then writing a word to stram.
