FastRam -> DSP transfer
Posted by: Patrice Mandin Feb,22.2008-13:04

Hello,

I am curious if anyone benchmarked the fastest way to transfer data from FastRam to the DSP (for audio data, I mean a big chunk of it).

You can either use the host port, with the 060 writing stuff to it, or use DMA audio, which means copying data to ST-RAM first before being transferred.

My question is: does copying stuff in a temp buffer in ST-RAM and using DMA is faster than using the host port (and use CPU to do the transfer)?

Would be nice if anyone has some stats (i.e. for a given buffer size).
