Actually, since you wrote the env variable was optional, I removed it and simply copied the file EDITOBJC.SLB in c/mint/1-16-cur and it's working perfectly like that. I only see the error message from Jinneee if I quit the desktop and then restart it. Here is the output from ps of both Jinnee and the SLB:
056 052 0 0 Sleep 10248192 00:55.51 jinnee
057 056 0 20 Stop 32768 00:00.00 EDITOBJC :/c/mint/1-16-cur//EDITOBJC.SLB
