Nice to read that you have the same thoughts as I have ;-) DVD burning on the atari would be cool... it won´t matter how fast it will be... my goal is to burn my hdd on it...
Supervidel is thought to get a hardware dvd-decoder, which will sure be very nice and I will definetly buy it!
But me, as a non-programmer, cannot understand, why a software solution should be impossible? Why isn´t it possible to reduce the quality of the image so much that it runs well on ct60? I watched nice videos (*.mov and *.avi) in acceptable good quality on my standard-falcon and can now watch some *.mpg movies in a good quality on ct60, why not write a program that decodes the dvd to a fast format (maybe to fast ram) and then do playback with aniplayer?
Sure decoding might (and maybe will) take a really long time, but it would be great to see a dvd movie fast on my atari, even if it´s 4 gig on my harddisk and it decodes overnight and the next day I watch the "new" *.mov in a sufficient quality ;-)
