well, i had problems with eiffel, but it was due to pic chip which had to be newly programmed in eeprom programmator...
this doesn't explain why your original kbd is not functioning...
if you have the unimer device try finding + 5V and - pins, and make sure you connect the original kbd just like it was before...
check the pins on the mobo, maybe some solder point got broken or something like it, it would be very strange that you
corrupted something else...
on my falcon it is like this:

TOP

o
o
o GND -
o
o SIGNAL 1
o +5V
o SIGNAL 2
x (pin missing)
o

BOTTOM

on my external eiffel connector pins were like this:

o o o o
GND SIG1 +5V SIG2

but it seems you have internal version...
