Re: HDDriver8.1

Except that I can't get HDDriver to work aaaarrrrggggghhhhh!!!!!

When I have been able to set partition sizes in HDDriver, I keep getting a message that the partition sizes are only for Magic or Mint. Then asking me to continue. I usually freak out cause I'n not running Magic atm, just plain TOS until I get the hdd prepped. It almost seems like it's wrong if I do and wrong if I don't.

I haven't exactly sat down and read every word of the manual, but I have skimmed through it and read particular sections, but it doen't do me any good. To my mind, I don't see a logical order of steps or a logical procedure i.e., attach hdd to falcon, insert hddriver disk in floppy and boot falcon. Run hddrutil. and so on. That is where I'm having the problems.

I boot with a floppy not containing hddriver.prg. Then I put in the HDDriver disk and run the hddrutil.

Next, I locate hddriver.prg. Then I go to tools and run the device check.
Next, I cancel out of that and run Auto Configuring, and when it's done I cancel out of that.

Then I quit Hddrutil and re-boot. Then when it reboots. I get: Exception Processing 4: Illegal Instruction. Then a bunch of other stuff.

So, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
