The funny program I wrote does somewhat what beetle is mentioning except it does not have a selection by itself, it uses xboot.
Xboot will select the parameter file for it, and the program will execute the commands in the parameter file.
I have parameter files that implements startup for
1. FreeMiNT 1.17.0, XaAES with Teradesk @ 1024x768
2. FreeMiNT 1.17.0, XaAES with Teradesk @ 800x600
3. FreeMiNT 1.17.0, XaAES with Jinnee @ 1024x768
4. FreeMiNT 1.17.0, XaAES with Jinnee @ 800x600
6. FreeMiNT 1.17.0, XaAES, SpareMint with Teradesk @ 1024x768
7. FreeMiNT 1.17.0, XaAES, SpareMint with Teradesk @ 800x600
8. FreeMiNT 1.17.0, XaAES, SpareMint with Jinnee @ 1024x768
9. FreeMiNT 1.17.0, XaAES, SpareMint with Jinnee @ 800x600
10. FreeMiNT 1.16.3, XaAES with Teradesk @ 1024x768
11. FreeMiNT 1.16.3, XaAES with Jinnee @ 1024x768
12. FreeMiNT 1.16.3, XaAES, SpareMint with Teradesk @ 1024x768

14. FreeMiNT 1.16.3, MyAES
15. Plain TOS
If there is no parameter file as it run in the AUTO, it does nothing. So the last configuration/startup is kept.
You can see naming the configuration files just to select the correct name is hell. In reality, I don't need these much but overtime I just collected them.

What's the anti-troll code? That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
