I use the #include features of the MINT.CNF.
The actual files to include are the snippets of
INIT=xxxxx for Xaaes or MyAES or sparemint.
So no need to edit the CNF file. Just make sure the correct includes files are there :-)
In theory you can use a boot manager like xboot to copy over the correct snippets.
But I have a simple prg that copies the correct snipplets on bootup.
It does other stuff like turning on/off some XIF etc.
Checking if I am using Radeon & renaming those NVDI drivers.
I also do the same to control the graphics in Xaaes, as it now implements #include commands.
