I am using MiNT without memory protection for quite some time because some apps (that shouldn't) cause problems with it, for example an app when launched will cause the desktop to crash or Falcamp will hang the system (this is especially puzzling since falcamp is supposed to be MP compatible). Anyway, I found that stability is pretty close whether you run with MP or not, if you are not a developer that is.

Getting a stable system with MiNT +CT60 + MP is a learning process. It should be confusing for a couple of weeks but after that it's rock solid.

Also it's a good incentive to migrate to newer more full featured apps and support authors who still develop for the platform.
