you can check out various dsp mod players that do a dsp host exception (exa player and my own variation of that: earx player).
i can't remember the address of the register, but you can just write a word to it and this is used as a jump address for the dsp interrupt.
SDMA is idd unrealiable on some Falcons. That is, if the transfer rate gets too high. The "push" mode, seems like host port transfer to me?
