Atari told us not to use it 20+ years ago. Stay away from it unless you absolutely have to touch it. The LineA-table is also used internally by the VDI, which means it's very useful if you need to alter the behavior of the VDI (like if you for example, implement new screen drivers for TOS4), but for all other purposes... nah.
