Thanks ggn, man thats a huge let down. Were these faulty chips in all the STe's when they arrived on the market or only the first productions?
I must have one of the first STe's produced.

You would think Atari would do a full hardware test of their new machine before releasing a new model?

Also, I'm running my code on a real 1040STe 4 meg ram + ext 20Meg HD.

I guess I'll search the web for a new chip (if they're still available these days :)

I had such good plans for my STe and can't do it now because of a hardware fault. I hope I can find another chip.
