Sadly I can only recomment the blitter manual (http://dbug.kicks-ass.net/dbugforums/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1280675140) which contains a reference routine for blitting stuff on screen. I'd suggest you read the doc adn the description of the registers carefully, try some stuff out (and tinkering the routine). If you get stuck, post a question :).
(yeah a proper blitter tutorial for beginners has been on the backburner for lots of time now, perhaps I'll write one soon!)
