I have made a 8ch version of the DNT "NTK"-player (I also removed the reqiured NTK-conversion so it now plays MODs) and started to implement FX-support aswell (not completed though). It is easy to build.
It needs a bit more work so I don't know if it would be any easier than continueing the bitmaster path... anyway, if you want it let me know.
