Hi Defjam,
I've tested it on my STe and unfortenly it doesn't look correct.
The left and right borders are opened on approx 200 scanlines, then appso 30 scanlines of normal 320 width and then no open lower border.
However, at the overscan lines, the bitplanes seems to be shofted so the colours are all wrong. At the right border switch it looks like one bitplane is cleared.
Here's a bad photo to give you an impresion what I talk about..
