fortunately, I was able to find an answer: While either an unconditional jump or conditional jump can be used to form a long interrupt, they do not store the PC on the stack; therefore, there is no return path. (again UM)

so yes, it could be a bug but maybe the fact they change SP in the interrupt handler isn't coincidence -- DSP has no super/user mode, i.e. shares only one stack, i.e. they could "return" from interrupt to regular code just by that change of stack pointer. that would be really crazy but... who knows ;)
