Crap I hate answering these... usually I'm told I'm wrong then insulted. Having been an Atari developer, I can say, they didn't specify what was loaded at floppy boot and what wasn't. I ran along with it though. For some reason, people who were NOT official developers knew a LOT more than those of us who were.

We just ran along with what was "left over" after boot, vs. what we got with booting up from floppy.

I realize this isn't technically sound, but this was just the conclusion of a few devs that I've met with at conferences way back when.

Now... since they didn't respond to your first petition, I'll bet they respond to THIS! :-P
