Yes no real use to shorten the screen this way.
Even to save screen memory bytes and display a shorter number of lines, you'd better use an interrupt to turn all colors to black, thus stopping the user to see what should not be displayed in the lower part of the screen. Much more flexible, as you can make the displayed area any height you like.
