This works by starting a normal screen in 50 Hz. So display starts at hbl 63. 
Then at hbl 34+200=234, you would switch to 60 Hz the same you do to remove bottom border. 
As the shifter will detect we're in 60 Hz at the last line of a 60Hz screen, it will disable display. 
So, your screen starts at line 63 and ends at line 234, which gives 171 displayed lines. 
I don't think any demo used this, as I don't see the point of shortening the screen.
