I use SH without any problems in my engine, however its using floats for vertex data.
I *think* I rewrote the clipper for Echos to use ints but I cant remember.
Either way, SH is worth a try and can easily be extended to clip vertex colours or UVs.
I googled for sutherland-hodgman and it came up with lots of tutorials, some with C code.
