Your code worked like a charm, but I realized my 68000-skills have deteriorated severely, took me a while to get some things moving on screen! :)
I've been looking into some docs, and the ST seems to be a very straightforward platform. 68000 + framebuffer (in weird interleaved format) - that's it.
It's kind of the same philosophy as the ZX Spectrum on the 8-bitter side.
On to sadder news - I got outbid by quite a bit on the STE, so no Atari for me.
But rest assured that your work with putting together code example will not be wasted, I'll keep my eyes open and see if another one turns up somewhere (at a better price).
