Sample XFER on the Host Port
Posted by: jason Jan,26.2005-04:22

pieter, do you know what DSP ops can trigger the exception line? so far it seems only RXDF and TXDE host port conditions will raise that line hi. i tried setting the RREQ bit (#7) in the Host Status Register but it has no effect, i.e. no exception occurs.

anyway, i'm testing tonite and probly will use the RXDF condition. BTW, the timing of my buffer "swaps" is very precise since it must approximate BPM to a very hi degree. I use some fixed point math to determine the buffer sizes on the fly, they get resized by a sample word or so when needed to get accurate BPM. So instead of building frames at 50hz, I build them at 96ppq for whatever BPM (i enjoy 146).

How about sample xfer on the host port, i plan on doing a REP 32 / MOVE (a0)+,(a1) / ENDR kinda thing. Is there any faster way?
