Skåne? Ok, perhaps we met at Big Floppy People back in 2006? We went there to humiliate the Amiga kids a bit ;-)
Not many demos require harddrive, perhaps my last one is the only that does (I wanted to support the SD-card reader with a demo, so it streams audio off the SD/harddrive).
But the main reason is that developing with a harddrive is much, much more comfortable. If you code close to hardware, the slightest error will crash the machine. Then rebooting from floppy, getting the assembler up again is tiresome. With a harddrive it's not so much of an issue. Not to mention the limit of 800k floppysize.
I used to be stubborn and refuse help from emulators and cross-development in general. But when Hatari got really good and almost anything we throw at it works as intended, I gotta admit that cross-dev is much more effective. Eclipse, Grafx2, VASM and Hatari really is what made the last few years of DHS STe demos possible.
A bit off-track there, good luck with finding a decently priced STe :-)
