There is hassle with Digicomposer and HDindeed. Did you try entering C:\ in the path area in disk menu? Anyway, Digicomposer and Noisetracker ST are very much alike, but I think Noisetracker performs a bit better in general and with HD even.

However, I don't think these trackers don't have many advantages over the ST-version of Protracker, also not regarding replay frequency. You can find the sample finetuning function in PT, just click on volume and you get the parameter instead of volume. The only things I missed in PT is that Noisetracker allows to shift samples by octave, very useful for using samples in higher octaves and Digicomposer had a fancy intro ;)
