Yes it is infact a protracker mod that I found years ago surfing the net before I started this project and lead to me being inspired enough to start it.
It was easier at the time to use this mod and the Lance replay routine.
Also you may notice at the beginning of the music the instruments play on the opposite sides (left on right, right on left). It's just how the music was converted.
I don't know how easy it would be to get the original TFMX music into this version though. Does a TFMX replay routine take more time than the Lance replay routine? I would assume so as it's 7 channel music.
If so this would not be possible because the R-Type sprites are actually drawn using generated software routines and nearly all the VBL time is used.
I just couldn't get the blitter to draw the letters in one frame.
