My opinion is fairly simple:

If the megademo is the reason to write a demo-screen, it should be in the megademo and nowhere else. If you write a demo-screen you don't consider suitable for the megademo, release it as a stand-alone demo-screen. As long as demo-screens are written and released - this way or the other - i am fine with both.

Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely no offense intended, it's just my opinion.
