it does seem to suck that in order to develop freeware or open source apps for atari, the only realistic solution still costs some $$$.
Admittedly its not very much, but somehow the principal behind it sucks.
on the other hand, i can see some reverse perspective. i know many musicians are using my stuff, and some of them are on my mailing list too.
by charging some money, you force people to get in touch, and get some feedback from everyone at least.
feedback is /total shit/ for freeware apps. i would say less than 1% bother to get in touch. 100s of people download ymVST every month since I released it, and it has been featured in magazines from Japan to the US... still i get just an email about it
every couple of months.
maxYMiser is more specialist, and i can estimate something like 30 or 40% of my users have been in touch. so yes... although i think its a bad form to charge for an almost-necessity like hddriver, i can see one argument for doing it.
at least uwe keeps his software up to date, and in my experience has been very helpful getting stuff working. i dont think he needs the money either somehow.

What's the anti-troll code? That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
