A friend had this problem (hi Britelite) with his new CT63 as well. He was quite sure that he had "bricked" the CT63 until he started to downgrade the firmware, and then suddenly it started to work again.
It seems to be a problem in the later batches of CT63. Also the FLASH chip is a different one, so the normal tools doesn't work to reprogram it with. Instead one must get a beta package for CTPCI and use those tools - completely undocumented :)
