Hi, I think I can explain what's going on :)

In BlowUp configuration you can select between 25, 32 and external (50) MHz clocks for the Videl. The two first are Falcon standard, and the latter is given by the BlowUp hardware.

In 50 MHz, the videl only works at 1, 2 or 4-bit resolutions, the bus is too slow at 8-bit and 16-bit. So the 800x600 you got is a pure software enhanced resolution, the BlowUp hardware is not involved. That's why it still works for you without the hardware.

To get the 50 MHz clock working in 8/16-bit resolutions you need to accelerate the ST-RAM bus to (preferable) 25 MHz - you then have a linear overclock of the bus and Videl. CT60, Nemesis, Phantom etc can do this bus-overclocking.

However, those bus-overclockers also change the Videl 32 MHz signal to 50 MHz, obsoleting the BlowUp hardware anyway.
