The Blow Up thingy is probably not broken, you can get 800x600@256c with any standard falcon using CentScreen (and some other software i can't remember the name of).
if i remember correctly, the Blow Up thingy is just an other "screenblaster" which overclocks the videl to (i think) 40mhz.
