Re: Oh crap!

I HAD a recased falcon. I was just in the process of recasing it BACK to the original case, because the huge black metal monster looks so ugly on my desk next to my Mac mini... (well not just that! :-))

Anyway, I managed to get some free samples of DS12887A from maxim a year ago, which I had kept for this occasion, plus i'm also waiting for my TT's clock to die too... so I wasn't gonna be bothered with cutting the old one up. My problem is that I removed the old chip and fitted the new one without a socket. I wasn't thinking straight at the time, I was just about to re-install MiNT on a 1GB CF card to replace the 3.5" HD, and I didn't want hassle with MiNT after the install with the clock being wrong (time/date stamps!).

So, that'll teach me to think before rushing into something. I'll try the CTRL-ALT-UNDO thing when I get home. If it doesn't work then I'll be hunting for a 24 pin socket in my stuff.
