Re: Pic of my rev6

I'm at 72 Mhz.....

When I tried faster, it was not stable, that was at 80. I bought 2 Rev 6 CPUs at the same time, Mark Duckworth has the other one, and he got his to go faster. I'm still using a crystal (when we tested, we had 72, 80, and 95, 80 was not stable for me, so I stayed at 72, Makr was stable at 80 I think, and was able to go 95 for short periods of time, but its been some time...), and not a CTCM yet to test faster because I can not flash my CT60, the Printer Port on my Falcon does not work right. I always figured that my RAM was my problem..... I hard a hard time finding a working chip initially....

As far as speed, I never worried. The Rev 1 CPU I got with the CT60 originally has a bad FPU, and it caused many troubles with GCC, and the Evolution demo did not run properly on it, whereas with this CPU, GCC is fine, and the Evolution demo works.

Eventually I'll either get another Falcon (I have a second CT60) or I'll meet up with Mark again to get the ABE/etc updated.

But, the machine is rock solid, I leave it on all of the time, and do development remotely. For an example of some items sitting on it right now in various stages of working (and non working):

Pentagram (Ultima 8 player, just built last night & untested)
Exult (Ultima 7 player, being built right now with GCC C++ 3.3.6)
Maelstrom (One bug left for working right in MiNT, many for use in Single TOS)
GCC 4.1.0 (C Compiler seems to work and completed bootstrap, except with MiNT system calls because of asm stuff, C++ compiler, still working on that, some asm problems)
ScummVM (Still trying to get native midi to work)
OpenTTD (Transport Tycoon Deluxe player, some bugs and the 060 might not be enough to handle the game, but GCC 4.1.0 built this and it runs, and so did 2.95.3 and 3.3.6, so, its a guinea pig for testing the compiler)

And then various SDL libraries.... Also some other midi tools (just to make sure I was doing midi stuff correctly) a disassembler from BSD, more games that don't work at all yet, etc etc.....

As you can see, the thing is hammered..... I think I typically, during the week, have it compiling about 14 hours out of the day. I get the occasional crash, but I think that is caused from some apps leaving a dirty environment after crashing :) (ScummVM being one of them!)
