Hey guys,
I'm on the edge of sanity and the edge of selling off my entire atari collection as a whole. I just can't deal with this anymore.. It doesn't work right.. period. I have tons of different ST-ram cards, different DIMMs, tried different configs, different mint kernels, no matter what I do I get BUS ERROR's all the fscking time. I need a falcon motherboard. I'll pay good money I guess for it. In USA. This is a last ditch effort. If it doesn't work, my Atari equipment is for sale and I'm out. Nothing is worth this hassle... nothing.
Seems like other people have had just as good of luck as I have. How bittersweet.
My one saving grace is that I can get this problem to happen in 030 mode. Making me think that it's my falcon. However I can solve the problem in st-high and 060 no-caches, which makes me think WTF?! Maybe it's a bus bandwidth issue, who knows.
Stats: Crappy 14 meg card, 4 meg atari card (testing now), 1 meg atari card, 1 256meg CL=3 dimm, ide and scsi, different versions of hd-driver tested. I seemed to have received some relief from issues by setting hd-driver to use fastram but it didn't last. latest versions of all recommended software setup in many different ways. It's not software and it's possibly but unlikely my ct60. The common factor is my falcon motherboard and I think it's just a shitbox.
Also for your overseas guys, I have stuff for trade. SGI O2 and Origin equipment, other Atari equipment, etc. I just NEED a falcon. Just for testing would be best, but to purchase would be good if I find my board is hte problem.
Thanks guys,
Sorry for the bad attitude :(
