Bad? No but they need to be patched to work on our computer.

Indeed, the assembler and the linker work like a charm ( "ranlib" and "ar" too) otherwise how I would have compiled GCC ?
The only problem is with the stack/strip utilities which the GCC compilation doesn't need.

I think too... but GCC/G++ 3.x work correctly with the old binutils therefore I let the work at another guy and I return to code my applications :)
