I cut the trace too, while I was experimenting with the Nova CT60 combination.
It worked fine for me. The only problem for me was that some frequencies didn't boot the falcon. It got stuck after the ATARI logo.
The solution for me was resetting with:
>CTRL-ALT-UNDO: NVM and Flash Parameters
>init if pressed during the memory test
>until the Reset. You need to set the
>delay at boot
Or changing the frequencie in 030 mode and then booting 060
