As far as I have been able to tell, Jinnee will not allow a true color desktop background - only 256 colors. The video mode can be true color, but the background images do not load if they are over 256 colors. It could be the same problem that I ran into with Picdesk, where the memory allottment for the desktop image was too low. Picdesk can be edited to increase this.
I'll definitely do some more experimenting.
