So far, the only desktop that I can find that allows a true color desktop background, is plain old TOS. Everything else covers it up, or is limited to a 256 color image.
I've tried Mint 1.16 with Gem.sys (Multitos), Jinnee, Thing, and Magxdesk at least. It bothers me that no one seems to have thought beyond 256 colors, and no one is developing these anymore.
I actually like plain TOS since it allows single key shortcuts for things like closing a directory window, selecting all files, etc... Multitos would have been fine too, but it covers up my Picdesk desktop background.
For most things, I would settle for plain TOS and a nice looking desktop. I just can't find a way around this newdesk.inf bug.
