Well unfortunately a photo will be no good, as the area around the switch has been severely hot-glued, but I can describe what to do...

If you open the cover and look at the board, have the midi ports at the top, and the 8pin din towards you. Just to the right of the 8pin socket on the board you will see a little through hole. This is where the clock pin comes from the socket. Pick somewhere to cut this trace and solder a wire to either side. These wires then go to a switch which you can feed out of the case - either drill a small hole in the back for the wires to pass through, or use small wires and just pass them under the lid. I just hot-glued my switch onto the back next to the socket.
