Well, I think a CT60-100 can play DVD with a PCM track and the SuperVidel. With AC3 decoding or the video resized in 320 x 240 65K colors for the Videl, it's not possible.
I think also we need a cache in SDRAM because SCSI or IDE ports are slow. The cache is disabled here (not works with ./configure).

About the gem window, you can also put :
setenv SDL_VIDEODRIVER gem inside mint.cnf.
What do you see inside the console with -v ?
