8 or 16 bits rendering
Posted by: Patrice Mandin Jun,27.2004-12:28

When you pick up an item, the engine change the palette. In TrueColour modes, this means I have to recalculate the palette I have to use for rendering (34 palettes with 256 colours). There are 2 possible work-arounds: Revert back to 8 bit rendering, then convert all the screen to TrueColour, or precalculate all palettes. On CT60, choosing a 8bit mode should be better, as all rendering will be done in FastRAM, then C2P-ed to slow ST-RAM. In 16 bits mode, the rendering is directly done in slow ST-RAM.
