This is my latest news:
During MagiC boot sequence, who use TOS, a memory allocation bug if fixed for remove crash inside the VBL routine. MagiC can also start without CT60XBIOS (with the Radeon).
CT60CONF.CPX now has a new boot entry for prefered video mode, it's the last native mode in the monitor list (without virual screen). So the TOS can boot with and extended modecode and not only XBIOS modes list.
CT60CONF.CPX now has a boot parameter for monitor layout :
CRT,NONE
CRT,CRT
CRT,TMDS
TMDS,CRT
TMDS,TMDS
Remember that USB enabled need hardware fixes like Ethernet boards, but Rodolphe is busy.
For Radeon 7000 problems I need answers to questions.
On the lastest TOS, DMA cannot be used.
Actually I get again DMA problems (freeze) like Rodolphe with my PCI tests. So DMA writing is also bugged and not only reading. I think that problems has multiple sources: unaligned buffers, different size, different sources address. So if you change something that there are no link lwith the DMA ike add features or remove bugs, DMA works or not works.
I think it's very hard to fix because Rodolphe work on the DMA since August.
For me there 3 hardware problems
- Interrupt (not sure)
- PCI arbitration (the PLX has no PCI arbitrer).
- DMA access.
