Hello,
1-
Prototypes of the two PCB (the PCI boards and the PLX9054 board) are now in production.
I should get them in 8 days now.
The factory final cost of the CTPCI is now known and is not good...
I may add 20 EUR to final price or check if we can get more order from CT users.
Actually with a batch of 100, the production cost is too high... I found some better price for some parts like connectors, but it stills too high.
I have to take a decision in the next days...
Sure if some of you have to add some reservation, they are welcome !
And if some of you want to cancel or reduce the reservation, they are urged to tell it me...
2-
With Didier, we define again the new IDE second port on CTPCI.
Now the new IDE will be used WITH the original IDE of the Falcon.
This means you will be able to connect 4 IDE devices !
Didier can use some IDE device directly without drivers (like the CompactFlash card as he already use) and Uwe Seimet told us recently that he is ready to modify HD Driver to support the second IDE port !
The CT60 CPX will allow you to select between the 2 following settings
Default setting :
F30_IDE as primary port & CT_IDE as secondary (new) port.
New setting in the CPX
CT_IDE as primary port (using falcon addresses) and F30_IDE as secondary port (using new addresses).
The restriction is that the new port is no reachable from 030 mode !
But I'm sure you do not never use 030 mode ;-)
