Hi,
while googling for some stuff I found an amazing piece of history and brilliance. The famous Bitmaster/TCE of the DSPMOD fame wrote as early as 1993 a software video controller for Falcon DSP: http://www.stcarchiv.de/stc1993/10/dsp-screen
It basically generates RGB signal via DSP port using a simple adapter. I was shocked by his ingenuity, esp. in the times when people just started to learn what the DSP is and how to use it in Falcon.
