I did try to make fastball attribute work per method, by following what the x86 target does. Unfortunately the m68k target is quite legacy, so it was not of much help. Causing me to give up and settle for global option (as per -mshort).
Don't know what the status of moving m68k to the new register allocator is. If it's definitely out or in, I would not mind giving it a second try.
