sounds like its interfering with the TOS keyboard handler. as you probably know if you recieve a mouse button scan code ($f8=no click, $f9=right click, $fa=left click, $fb=left+right click). then you know that the next 2 packets from IKDB are mouse packets for x and y motion vector.

seems like your code is somehow stopping TOS from recognising the first scancode. perhaps by clearing the MFP interrupt flag/mask for IKDB?
