Blitter sideways rastersplits
Posted by: Alien / ST-CNX Apr,10.2012-07:13

Needless to say I really like the new Antiques demo.

The pictureDB says Mic's pictures are displayed with "Blitter sideways rastersplits".

How does this technique compare with Spectrum 512? Does the blitter conflict with the CPU for bus cycles or can one run code simultaneously? And is the blitter sufficiently deterministic that one simply synchronizes with respect to the screen address and then tells it to run?
