SuperVidel is detected by checking the presence of a SupV-cookie :)
You use the SuperVidel the same way you would use the VIDEL, basically. The XBIOS API is exactly the same + some new bits in the modecode word. Fast video memory is allocated using ct60_vmalloc().
In addition to this, I've implemented *parts* of the CTPCI/Milan API, and extended it somewhat to enable applications access to video settings separately for each monitor (DVI vs. VGA output). IIRC it was you who wrote some tutorial docs about this API, which I read and decided that it would be useful to support some functions.
How about emailing me at pep.fishmoose@gmail.com? :) I may have some questions about the CTPCI API (mainly the blit and memory allocation stuff, since this is inherently different from how the Falcon usually works).
Also, I'm *very* open to suggestions for the API. In the end, I'm aiming to release the source code for the whole shebang, but it might take another six months or so before that happens.
