the 060 uses "branch prediction". And interestingly, the 060's BP is better then the Pentiums :) ( It has one extra state) But I didnt find the PP presentation I once found, so I cant give you a link :(
The 0-cycle branche must be due to the "Branch Cache" where the 060 fetches the instructions which must be execute when the branch would be taken ( the instrcutions for the not-taken case are already in the pipeline)
To make this correct:
"taken" stands here for what the "branch prediction" thiinks will happen!

But I really hate writting all this without to be absolutly sure about it. But i will keep googling :)
If anybody has better information, feel free to correct me. Maybe an AMIGA coder knows more?

Hope that helped to enlighten you anyhow.

What's the anti-troll code?
That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
