Hi!

It depends about what kind of scrolling you want to do: fullscreen or not (adress multiple of 2 or 8 bytes), vertical only scroller etc.
But for the general case, ULM, me and others do it in 5+1 lines (+1 stands for the first synchro line).
4+1 scroller can be acheived using some weird line size, but is not working on every ST.
Last but not least, this is the number of lines used, but it use a little CPU more to setup the scroler. (maybe 1/2 scanline :-)).
