Hello,
it's true sound level between dma and ym are not correct yet, some adjustements need to be made for Hatari 1.4.
As for the sound quality between Saint and Hatari, I don't really know. In YM mode, I think Hatari is a little more precise as it uses 5 bits volume for envelopes (I'm not sure it's the case for Saint).
But perhaps Saint as a better mixer for dma/ym.
Also Saint includes some post processing filters, but I wouldn't include this as "better quality sound" as it's really a matter of taste (I prefer the raw unfiltered ym sound).
